How does your media product represent particular social groups? Jonathan Evans Steven Hegarty Jordan Crosby Brett Egan
Social Groups Our Media Product represents a social group of gothic or introvert teenagers aimed at 15-17 year olds who want a new kind of original horror. The film implies suicide with the knife scene and this represents the confusion amongst teenagers and hooks the idea of teenagers feeling trapped. Our film touches on the sensitive and quite controversial subject of rape (implied through newspaper clippings). This, in a way, helps to attract a wider audience as our film clearly has an emotional theme.
Films similar to ours. The main inspiration for our films narrative and cinematography style originates from the turn of the screw. The black and white colour schemes fit in with the conventions Shutter (Ghost Horror) is another film similar to ours.

Gender Representation Stereotypical gender representations do apply to our production. In our short film the young girl is seen as powerless and Depressed. Whilst there is no male characters in the production, the only male character mentioned is Alice's father who has power over Alice. In the production Male’s are made out to be Monsters.
How Does This Link To Target Audience The production appeals to the Emo demographic of teenagers who actively seek to feel a range of differing emotions to create feelings of depression and allow them to express their grimness.
