  •  Judaism started about 4,000 years ago Judaism started with Abraham, a Hebrew man, who later became the father of their religion Abraham and his wife did not have kids till they were in there 90’s ( back then they lived longer) then one of their sons, Isaac, had a son (Jacob) and that son had a son named Israel, therefore Abrahams decedents were known as the Israelites “ Jewish belief was what Abraham believed in so his decedents did”.
  •  Most celebrate holidays all year round but the Jewish celebrate in the fall and spring They celebrate the Passover in April and spring The Jews celebrate Sukkoth or called “feast of the booths” were they spend time in a temporary hut( usually 7 to 8 days)
  •  Jews use the Hebrew bible They also use Torah, which is made up of the 5 books of Moses, the Law, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The Talmud, the Oral law
  •  Judaism is practiced in Israel , north America, south America, Europe, and Asia. Judaism is most practiced in Israel.
  •  Jehovah’s witnesses believe that there is one true god, and his name is Jehovah, and that he created all things. They also believe he sent his only son (Jesus) to earth to die as a sacrifice for our sins. This allows his faithful followers to have hope to either rule with Jesus in heaven or live in perfection on a paradise earth forever.
  •  Jehovahs witnesses believe they had their start with the first century Christian congregation established by Jesus’ early disciples. Because of this they try to follow the example Jesus set for us. The modern day organization had it’s beginnings in the late 19th century in Pennsylvania, USA when groups of bible students began to organize for bible study. They adopted the name Jehovah’s Witnesses based on a scripture in Isaiah chapter 41 in 1931.
  •  Jehovah’s Witnesses do not celebrate birthdays or traditional holidays. They only celebrate what is commanded in the bible. Jehovah’s Witnesses celebrate the Memorial of Christ death(the Lords Evening Meal) as commanded by Jesus in the bible book of Luke. This celebration takes place on after sundown on Nisan 14, according to the Jewish calendar that was common in the first century.
  •  Jehovah’s Witnesses base all their beliefs and worship on God’s inspired word, the Bible. They have many other bible-based publications they use in their study of the bible. These, however, are not considered to be inspired by god.
  •  They practice everywhere in the world, in over 236 lands & languages. The country with the largest number of Jehovah’s Witnesses is the United States w/ over 1.2 million. There are almost 7.7 million of us around the world.
