    • 3. Importance
      • Interactive whiteboards are becoming more popular in all types of classrooms throughout the world. The technology is readily at our fingertips, but what should we do with it once we obtain it? We want to make sure that teachers are able to manipulate the technology with their curriculum so that the IWB is working to its fullest potential. One of the best ways to do that is to understand what obstacles teachers are facing when they begin using an IWB, and how best to support them after they have some experience with the new technology.
    • 4. Purpose of Study
      • Understand how teachers are learning how to use technology in the classroom and with their curriculum.
      • Understand and discover what obstacles teachers are coming up against when learning how to use an IWB.
      • Discover what the best strategies are for using an IWB to it’s fullest potential in a mainstream classroom.
      • Objectives or Outcomes
    • 5. Literature Review

      • Theme 2: Training Teachers with Technology

    • 8. Literature Review
      • Theme 3: Interactive Whiteboards
      • Learning Theory Behind the IWB
      • How does an IWB help students? What are the benefits?
      • What can it do that traditional whiteboards can’t?
      • Strategies to Use the IWB
      • What strategies work best?
      • Does the subject matter change the strategy?
    • 9. Implications for the Study
      • My audience will have a better understanding of how most teachers learn to incorporate technology into their curriculum and teaching.
      • Teachers will be able to take subject-specific strategies and apply them to their IWB lessons.
      • Administrators may take a different perspective when planning professional development days.
    • 10. Gaps in the Literature
        • Different types of IWB’s are coming out every year that are more affordable for schools. How will they affect the infiltration of IWB’s?
        • What will school districts do to better support their teachers with technology?
        • How can experienced teachers and beginning teachers help one another with technology?
    • 11. Importance and Justification for your study
      • I hope this is a starting point for my school and district to really look at how professional development with the new technology can strengthen the practices of all teachers.
