AUTODESK UNIVERSITY 2007 Slideshow - Presentation Transcript

    1. It was a simple thought….
    2.
    3.
    4. A Video Slideshow Presentation by: Benedicto “Bennie” P. Guira, Jr . Studio 2 Architects-Hawaii, Ltd. AUTODESK UNIVERSITY 2007 Attendee Acknowledgements: For their Approval of letting me Attend AU 2007 : Emile Alano, AIA Studio 2 Coach Bill Brizee, AIA Studio 2 Principal Lloyd Arakaki, AIA ,EVP, Human Resources
    5. Acknowledgements: Board of Directors and Stockholders of Architects-Hawaii, Ltd. I want to acknowledge also my very hardworking Moana Vista Team for allowing me to take off for a week, (although I found out that it seemed to me that they “missed me” just by this much when I came back):Joe Farrell, Daniel Moats, Jun Suela, Francis Arata, Marc Lopez, Wilmer Gonzales, Rosita Sipirok Sipegar and our Consultants, Neil Aihara and Matthew Isono. I want also to recognize that in one way or another, as I have quietly applied any tips that they have shared with me, my Moana Vista team has greatly contributed to my knowledge in AutoCAD today. Thank you sisters and brothers, but I don’t wanna cry. Thanks also to Joel Francisco for his AU 2006 Tips and Stan Kawasaki for his Las Vegas tips!!!
    6. How this came about…
      • AUGI CAD Camp – Honolulu
      • July 30, 2007
      • D uring one of the classes I attended-Tips and tricks of becoming an AutoCAD Power User
      • Instructor - Dave Espinosa-Aguilar
      • He was such a very powerful speaker and instructor, and with such humor, that made me pondering, and thinking and right then I said to myself ” I will attend the Autodesk University 2007!”
      • P lacing also 4 th overall in the AUGI Top DAUG contest pushed me a little bit.
    7.
    8. The request…
      • W ith the registration for the AU 2007 fast approaching, which was to start August 15, 2007, I sent an e-mail a request to Emile A., our Studio 2 Head, to attend the AU 2007 discussed it with Bill B., and was presented to the Board, submitted my proposal as required...and I chose to do a Presentation, originally for Studio 2, but after I attended the AU 2007; I thought it would be more rewarding for me if I share it with the whole staff, and then came the final approval from Lloyd A.
    9. The approval!!!
      • A fter a while Emile came to me and relayed the good news that “it (my request) has been approved!” and I was quietly elated!!! …and then thanked Emile for his efforts.
      • H e gave me the go ahead to register for the AU 2007. He advised me to see June T. to help me register which I did.
    10. The AU 2007 registration…
      • B ut then she was about to take a short vacation, so Marian helped me out with Erin’s assistance. This includes the Conference registration, Hotel Accommodations, including the food and also the Airline travel reservation. Thank you, Ladies.
      • T hen it was my turn to register for the class sessions that I was interested into. By then it was about a month passes since the AU 2007 registration started. Those hands-on Revit classes was already full. But I was able to register to a variety of classes which are mostly Revit.
    11. Leave of absence…
      • T wo weeks before the Conference, I then submitted my request for my Leave of Absence and was approved of taking a break from the Moana Vista project. Thanks to Danny, Jun S. and Joe .
    12. W elcome to my fellow AHL Ohana! T hank you for sparing your lunch time today with me as I fulfill a promise to present to you all a summary and of my experiences and insights as an Autodesk University 2007 Attendee! And I hope you will learn a thing or two out of this. AU

    92. And so here, AU 2007 ended!!! Loaded with Tons of Information…
    93. Thoughts and Impressions
      • I could say that I came back from the AU 2007 with tons of information that I am sharing with you all especially to our Tech Staff. There is a a very strong desire of the attendees to get into the Hands-On Labs Revit Classes, as I tried to do, but all of those Revit related classes are full that there’s no room for any additional attendee in the classroom.
    94. Thoughts and Impressions
      • I believe this will be the trend even as I conclude my AU 2007 presentation. If you ask me if I will attend the AU 2008, my answer is “I am looking forward to that “ and I know I have to save for that.
      • I will be uploading the Speaker Handouts of the AU 2007 and also the videos that I filmed during the conference in our New AHL Intranet.
      • Thank you all!!!
