Slide 1: The Great Depression October of 1929-1945
Slide 2: The Great Depression… The Great Depression started in October 1929 and lasted through most of the 1930’s. Many of the people that lived during the time of the Great Depression died.
Slide 3: Where The Great Depression struck… The Great Depression started in The United States and quickly spread through Europe and all the other parts of the world. Many people died because people weren’t getting paid enough to be able to afford food and good homes.
Slide 4: How the Great Depression was started… Many people, when they first hear of the Great Depression, they think of a lot of people being sad. But, the real reason of The Great Depression was people were suffering from an enormous drop in output and an unprecedented rise in unemployment.
Slide 5: Franklin Delano Roosevelt Franklin Delano Roosevelt, was born on January 30, 1882. He was the 32nd President. He died on April 12, 1945. He served as president from 1933- 1945.
Slide 6: Children during The Great Depression… One sad thing about children during that time was that doctors didn’t have all the technology that they have now.
Slide 7: Families during the Great Depression… Many large families had a rough time making it through The Great Depression. Mothers at that time, didn’t have jobs, so the fathers had to get all the money for food, clothing etc. Back then people didn’t get paid as much as they do now so it was a lot harder to care for their families.
Slide 8: The Houses of The Great Depression… Many families, like this one, had to either live in their vehicles, barns, or little shacks like this family. Many people couldn’t afford a nice house or nice clothes.
Slide 9: The Recovery… It took many years to recover from The Great Depression, but once people got their jobs, houses and family back in order life was a bit easier for the people of Oklahoma and people all around the world.
