Slide 2: What is The Bridge?  The Bridge is the Employment Service provided by the Students’ Union  Works with employers in and around Preston  Has its own agency

Slide 3: How do I use this service?  Firstly you need to register with the Bridge – PLEASE NOTE – this is separate from applying for jobs!  Once registered you can start looking at the vacancies we list either in The Bridge Office or on our NEW website www.uclansu.co.uk/thebridge

Slide 4: How to….  Each vacancy has its own reference number  Let a member of staff know which job you are interested in either by coming into The Bridge or via email – thebridge@uclan.ac.uk  A friendly member of staff will provide you with all the relevant details, including how to apply

Slide 5: What you will find at The Bridge  Only part-time jobs are advertised during term time – maximum of 20 hours per week  Paid work  Voluntary work  Many Different types of work ranging from bar staff, sales assistants, care workers, receptionists, call centre.

Slide 6: What is the agency?  The Bridge agency is for temporary work in various different roles e.g. admin, telephony, glass collecting, waiting on plus many more  Flexible around studies but may require short notice commitment  Need to sign up to the agency at The Bridge – bring a copy of your CV and your passport

Slide 7: What else does The Bridge do?  The Bridge also offers information on wide variety of employment issues –  Tax,  National Insurance,  CVs and cover letters,  Interviews,  Application Forms

Slide 8: Jobs Fair – 25th September 53 Degrees  The Bridge holds a jobs fair each year, with mini fairs throughout term times  Lots of employers attend  Good chance to chat to employers  Look at types of jobs available  Hand out your CVs  Ask Questions about employment
