  • The following slides are inspired by Garr Reynolds’s suggestions on presentations from:Reynolds, Garr. Presentation Zen. Berkley Ca: New Riders, 2008.
  • Succes(s)Many presenters will simply tell you facts (which is boring) or talk in abstractions that only make sense to the presenter. How can you relate the ideas you’re presenting to your audience?So what? Is the main question in planning your slides.
  • Keep it simple stupid.Organize your presentation by your main points you’re trying to get across to your audience.Design matters too.Leave lots of empty spaceMisconception to design at the end. Start with design in mind. necessary way to organize information take away the noise in your sides (logos useless pics etc)
  • Violating expectations keeps people interested. Make people curious about what’s going to come next.
  • Use natural speech and real examples that the audience can relate to.
  • Give your presentation credibility by giving attribution to where you found your information.
  • Bringing people through a list of facts will bore the audience. You have to engage by bringing in emotion. We’re human beings!
  • Another similar way to relate to the audience is by telling stories. It’s how we communicate on a one-on-one basis. Why should presenting be much different?
