Boiling Springs High School Library Media CenterMarch 2011 Monthly Report 26384251739084<br />Boiling Springs High School Library Media Center<br />March 2011<br />Library Highlights<br /><ul><li>Teen Tech Week Teen Tech Week, sponsored by the American Library Association and the Young Adult Library Services Association, was held at BSHS March 7 – 11. This year’s theme was “Mix and Mash.” To celebrate, BSHS LMC sponsored a Book Trailer Contest requiring students to use a variety of media (mix and mash!). Eight students created trailers and entered them for the contest judging. Mrs. Menzer, Mr. Pack, and Mrs. Lindman judged the entries and awarded 1st place to Jessica Pathammavong. Jessica received a $10 gift card to Barnes and Noble and her book trailer is posted on the home page of the library’s website. Bojangles’ Teacher of the Year Ceremony On March 1st, Mrs. Bullington, Mr. Gordon, and Mrs. Jones (Spartanburg District Two’s Teacher of the Year) were invited to Bojangles for a ceremony honoring four Spartanburg County District Teachers of the Year. In honor of Mrs. Jones, Bojangles donated 23 young adult fiction titles to the BSHS LMC.
  3. 3. Information Literacy Lessons Both Mrs. Gray and Mrs. Broome requested instruction on web site evaluation for their English classes. Three sophomore English classes and two senior English classes learned the ABCD’s of web evaluation and then had to apply them as they evaluated web sites.
