1. Troubleshooting PayPal IPN Issue
1. Log in to PayPal
2. Go to “Profile”
3. Click on “My selling tools.” On the next page, in the section called “Getting paid
and managing my risk,” click on “Update” to the right of “Instant payment
notifications.”
2. Note: If you’re using the “old” PayPal account view, you’ll instead want to click on
“Instant Payment Notification Preferences” under Selling Preferences.
3. 4. If “IPN” is “Off” you should see a page of text with a button “Choose IPN Settings”
5. Click “Choose IPN Settings”
6. Enter “http://www.apple.com”, select “Receive IPN messages (Enabled)” and click
“Save”
4. 7. Click “IPN History Page”
8. In the list of messages look for statuses other than “Sent”
9. For Status “Failed” or “Disabled”, check the box and click “Resend Selected”
10. Also, review messages with Status “Sent” to see if any of those payments are
experiencing the issue. If so, Resend those messages.
11. Go back to the main Instant Payment Notification page
12. Click “Turn IPN Off” and “Confirm”
IPN does not need to be enabled in your account profile because it is triggered via a
command in the Eventbrite-PayPal integration.
