  • 5. Add Value • Economists talk about “usefulness” – utility • We pay more for things that are more useful • Making products more useful adds value • Don’t market cheap stuff – add value
  • 6. Add Value/Utility • Form: Do you want a dead cow or do you prefer a charbroiled T-Bone Steak? • Place: Hard to sell air conditioners in Alaska. Texas, not so much so • Time: Hard to sell X-mas ornaments in March
  • 7. Add Value/Utility • Possession: New clothes are useful until we own them • Information: Don’t assume people understand your product – educate & motivate
