  • AUDIO BOOKS AND YOU
  • GENERAL LESSON DESCRIPTION
    • To meet 21 st century skills teachers need to successfully be able to integrate technology into their curriculum.
    • Successful integration stems from a comfortable working relationship with the technology.
  • General Lesson Description
    • This pd course is designed to give teachers hands-on time with the use of digital audio and some of its more common applications.
    • The lesson will also familiarize teachers with Tapped In “the online workplace of an international community of education professionals…”
  • Objectives of Lesson
    • Teachers will be able to download audio books on to mp3 players/ipods.
    • Teachers will be able to integrate digital audio into their curriculum
    • Teachers will become members of Tapped In and will use this resource as a virtual classroom for learning.
  • The lesson will be implemented in two parts utilizing synchronous and asynchrous learning
  • Part 1 90 Minutes
    • Meet as a group in the computer lab.
    • Review audio books
    • Demonstrate how to download an audio book from the public library onto a mp 3 player
    • Familiarize teachers with Tapped In
  • Part Two
    • Teachers will work independently to learn the technology and will informally collaborate within the Tapped In learning community.
    • One synchronous 40-minute session to be held in the group room created for the lesson -- “Audio Books and More”. This will be a time to troubleshoot tech issues, add resources, share ideas and assess progress
  • www.tappedin.org
    • The Audio Books and More group room will act as a meeting space; a support area and a resource room.
    • Teachers will share via the discussion board ways they plan on integrating digital audio in their respective curriculum area(s).
