  • 2. Why Are We Here? We live in a world of lies ruled by the father of lies Some of the bi#est lies are what what is not said Distraction is a powerful tool of the enemy Deuteronomy 6 Solution Before Pentecost: Bind on hand, on door-jam, te% to kids everyday. 2Saturday, October 27, 12
  • 3. “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. And when the Lord your God brings you into the land that he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you—with great and good cities...—and when you eat and are full, then take care lest you forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. • 7. Adopted by the Father For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ...”(Romans 8:15-17) 7Saturday, October 27, 12
  • 8. Living Beneath Our Identity “It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.” ― C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory, and Other Addresses 8Saturday, October 27, 12
  • 9. Chosen Before Creation Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure. (Eph.1: 4-5) 9Saturday, October 27, 12

  • 13. All of History & The Bible A Father Seeking to Get His Children Back--to walk with them “in the cool of the day” in heaven! • 14. Father’s Lavish Love for Us “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! • 17. It is a serious thing to live in a society of possible “gods and goddesses”, to remember that the dullest and most uninteresting person you can talk to may one day be a creature which, if you saw it now, you would be strongly tempted to worship, or else a horror and a corruption such as you now meet, if at all, only in a nightmare. ~~~C.S Lewis (The Weight of Glory) 17Saturday, October 27, 12
  • 18. It is in the light of these overwhelming possibilities...that we should conduct all our dealings with one another, all friendships, all loves, all play, all politics. There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal... But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit—immortal horrors or everlasting splendors. ~~~C.S Lewis (The Weight of Glory) 18Saturday, October 27, 12
