Every time he takes a step, he sinks into 6 inches of snow!

Brian finds the snow very beautiful to look at, but he also finds that it is very hard to maneuver and to shoot in.

Brian watched how easily rabbits moved on the snow. He noticed that they didn’t sink into it.

Encouraged by the rabbits, Brian goes to work on some snow shoes. Upon finishing them, he finds it easier to maneuver.

 6. 6. The cold of Winter

One day when Brian woke up, he instantly noticed that it was freezing. He was shivering! He decided that he would make a fire and get cozy. When he poked his head outside, his face felt frozen.

He looked across the lake and saw that it had frozen. He closed the shelter door but knew he would have to go out soon – he had to pee.

He quickly hopped out of his shelter and relieved himself. His pee froze immediately! He now hated winter.

 7. 7. Blizzard

After he returned to his shelter, Brian slept until he was awakened by loud winds.

He looked outside to see that he was in the middle of a blizzard! Snow blasted his face and the coldness stung at his skin.

He immediately closed the door and was forced to stay inside for more than a week!

When the dreaded weather eased up, he goes out to stock up on materials.

He needed wood and food so he went out for a big hunt with his war bow.

 8. 8. Food, Food, Food

Brian goes out to hunt for some food.

He turns a corner and comes face to face with a wolf!

The wolf glares at him for about a minute and then slowly turns and runs into the forest.

Brian notices a dead deer. The wolf must have left it when he ran off!

Brian took the remains back to the shelter and ate on it for about a week.

 9. 9. Rampage

After the yummy deer was gone, Brian felt that the “war bow” would allow him hunt larger game, like deer.

With this bow, Brian went looking for deer. Instead of deer, he found a moose.

He stalked it until he had an open view at the animal’s chest. He hit him in the heart but the shot but didn’t put the huge animal down. The moose rammed him as it turned around to do it again, Brian put his lance in front of him just as all went dark.

I’m Bored

Brian wakes up to find that he is trapped beneath a dead moose.

He wiggled free and caries the moose back to camp.

He cooked the moose and eats. He then falls off to sleep, awaking to the feeling of warmth. There is a warm front coming through. Finally - a break from the cold.

Brian just eats and sleeps - he has nothing more to do. One day, as he approaches sleep, he hears a gunshot.

 11. 11. Brian gets out

Though Brian didn’t feel like finding out where the shot came from, he couldn’t sleep because of it, so he searched.

He searched for tracks, and listened for sounds. After a long search, he finally discovered a camp.

He found Native Americans vacationing in the wilderness. They had a supply plane that came for them every 6 weeks, so Brian stayed with them and waited for the plane. He then said his goodbyes and finally left.
