    • Boolean  Searches   Boolean  searches  -‐  You  can  use  advanced  search  operators  and  Boolean  logic   to  conduct  your  searches.  Here  are  some  of  the  ways  you  can  construct  your   searches:     •  Quoted  searches  -‐  For  an  exact  phrase,  enclose  the  phrase  in  quotaEon   marks  (e.g.  "product  manager").   •  NOT  searches  -‐  To  exclude  a  parEcular  term,  type  that  term  with  an   uppercase  NOT  immediately  before  it  (e.g.  programmer  NOT  manager).   •  OR  searches  -‐  To  see  results  that  include  1  or  more  terms  in  a  list,  separate   the  terms  with  an  uppercase  OR  (e.g.  sales  OR  markeEng).   •  AND  searches  -‐  To  get  results  that  must  include  2  or  more  terms  in  a  list,   you  can  use  the  upper-‐case  word  AND  as  a  separator  (e.g.  manager  AND   director).  Note:  You  don't  need  to  use  AND.  If  you  search  2  or  more  terms,   you'll  automaEcally  see  results  that  include  all  of  them.   •  ParentheRcal  searches  -‐  To  do  a  complex  search,  you  can  combine  terms   using  parentheses.  For  example,  to  find  people  who  have  "VP"  in  their   profiles,  or  have  both  director  AND  division  in  their  profiles,  type:  VP  OR   (director  AND  division).
    • Save  Jobs   To  save  a  job  to  the  Saved  Jobs  secEon,  do  one  of   the  following:   • Click  Save  job  when  it  appears  as  you  move  your  cursor   over  a  job  in  the  Jobs  search  results.   • Click  the  star  icon  that  appears  when  you  move  your   cursor  over  a  jobs  in  the  Jobs  you  may  be  interested  in   results  on  the  Jobs  page.   • Click  the  Save  job  link  in  the  top  right  of  a  job  posEng   under  the  Apply  budon.   • Jobs  you  apply  for  through  LinkedIn  Jobs  appear   automaEcally  in  your  Saved  Jobs  secEon.
    • Shhh…it’s  a  secret!   •  If  you  have  a  premium     account,  turn  off  the  Job     Seeker  badge  under     “Sevngs”   •  ParEcipaEng  in  job  seeker     groups?  Choose  not  to  show  the  group  on   your  profile  or  prevent  updates  from  being   sent  when  you  join  the  group.
    • Going  Beyond  the  Basics   •  Use  the  Advanced  Search  feature     •  Once  connected,  call  –  yes,  with  a  telephone.   Contact  the  mutual  connecEon  and  ask  if  they   can  schedule  a  meeEng  with  the  person  you’d   like  to  meet.     •  Take  the  opening  and  make  the  meeEng  a   success.     •  Download  your  LinkedIn  connecEons  list  for   emailing**   **  Read  about  CAN-‐SPAM  regulaEons  before  doing  this.
