This document was researched and compiled by Mark Fullbright. Each website was reviewed for it’s own privacy policy and optout guidelines. I have not received any form of payment for this information. It was done as a free consumer guideline to reduce ones exposure of personal information located on the internet. Enjoy.

  • 20. Commercial Data Brokers • Data brokers are companies that collect personal information about consumers from a variety of public and non-public sources and resell the information to other companies. • Data brokers collect, maintain, and sell a wealth of information about consumers, they often do not interact directly with consumers. Rather, they get information from public records and purchase information from other companies. • As a result, consumers are often unaware of the existence of data brokers as well as the purposes for which they collect and use consumers’ data. • http://www.worldprivacyforum.org/wp- content/uploads/2012/03/WPF_FTCpetition_OptOut_041520 09fs.pdf

The appendix to the final rule contains model forms to facilitate compliance with the notice and opt-out requirement. • Consumer opt -out methods for compliance with Section 5 of the FTC Act, 15 U.S.C. §45(a)(1). • http://www.worldprivacyforum.org/wp- content/uploads/2012/03/WPF_FTCpetition_OptOut_041520 09fs.pdf
  • 22. FederalTradeCommission 600PennsylvaniaAve.NW Washington,DC20580 1-877-FTC-HELP(1-877-382-4357) https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#&panel1-1 • Each site has it’s own privacy policy (Look for words such as "Privacy Notice," "Privacy Policy," and "Opt-Out Notice.“) and each policy may be different. Follow the directions to ‘Optout’. If requested, limit how much information you provide to these websites and keep a record of each one contacted. I found it takes about six months to notice a reduction of your personal information found online. • I recommend checking periodically for new search sites. Also you’ll find that some of the bigger data aggregators own multiple websites. • Remember your personal information is a commodity to Commercial Data Brokers. If they refuse, make it too difficult or impossible to Optout of their website. File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission
