A week in the
life of an agency
I am Director of Strategy at
Bloom Worldwide. I lead our
client strategy projects, and
make sure that data and
insight is at the heart of
everything we do.
My team – Mission Control -‐
consists of our superstar
analysts, strategists, planners
and social media managers.
My check-‐in day
Mondays are full speed ahead. I
spend a lot of my day making sure
my team has everything they need
to do the best job possible.
Today I’ve got an account planning
meeFng and a session with Mission
Control to announce our new
Monday is my best day to ﬁx and
troubleshoot, so everyone can
get on with the magic.
It’s important for me to spend
Fme working closely with the
Bloomers to ensure we deliver
Today I’m reviewing a content
strategy and compeFtor insight
report, collaboraFng on an
inﬂuencer strategy, and consulFng
on some project briefs.
Finally, we’ve got a team
brainstorm to come up with ideas
for an inﬂuencer campaign.
To deliver the best work for our
clients, it’s important for me to get
under the skin of their organisaFons.
I spend as much as I can of
Wednesday speaking to clients, be it
via status calls, on-‐site visits,
delivering presentaFons, 121
consultaFon or running workshops.
Today I’m at Brussels delivering a
session on online inﬂuence at our
As an introvert, it’s important for
me to have a quiet space to think
and really get stuck into projects.
At Bloom we have a room called
the Library, a no talking zone,
where I can power ahead with
my own output.
Today I’m creaFng an audience
proﬁling report for a new client.
Later I’ll be puTng some ideas
down in a new biz pitch doc.
Friday is about making sure our
prioriFes for the week have been
achieved, and planning the week
I run a team meeFng at 3pm
every Friday (just aWer our
DeskBeers delivery!) where we
share 1 thing we’ve learned this
week, plan our schedules for the
next week, and share our
prioriFes for the week ahead.
My recipe for the weekend:
1. Walk to beach
2. Find sea
3. Get in sea
4. Get out of sea
5. Go out for dinner
6. Drink wine
7. Watch football
8. Post adventures to my
travelling badger’s Facebook
page (of course)
