What is Gauss?• Gauss is a mobile app that discovers, introduces, connects and facilitates face to face meet-ups with new relevant people around you in easy, fun and safe ways• More technically speaking it’s a proximity-based real-time social discovery and introduction engine• To the user it’s a People Magnet for your pocket

What is Gauss?• In its current form it is a native mobile app and a platform with it’s own API• To users, Gauss is a tool for discovering new relevant people around them facilitating easy introductions and connections, helping build more social capital• Gauss is a privately-held four person bootstrapped startup based in Cologne, Germany

Ambient Awareness• Premise: “Based on where you are we’ll show you who’s nearby and what they have in common with you and provide you with ways to connect and interact”• Browse people grouped by real-world ﬁlters like direct friends, friends of friends and other people you are not already connected to on Twitter, Foursquare and Facebook

Discovery & Intro• Browse all available social proﬁles• Discover everything you have in common; Interests and contacts aggregated across networks• Interact with the networks of your choice; Supports established behaviors and preferences• One-tap introductions and connections

Magnetize the World• Killer feature is the ability to magnetize your world: Deﬁne realtime persistent background searches for people relevant to you that are around you right now• Based on the users’ existing interests and activities, importing and leveraging the user’s existing interest and social graphs• Currently Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare APIs implemented. LinkedIn in the works

No User Paradox• Gauss discovers non-Gauss users• No need to wait for the world to join: Gauss doesn’t depend on network effects• A web app component supports interactions with non-Gauss users and helps bring in new users to the native app• Uses public data via APIs, no scraping
