  • PROVALUE: CAPITALIZATION OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE ON FOOD WASTE VALORIZATION SOLUTIONS Aintzane Esturo. AZTI-Tecnalia *The views presented only compromise the beneficiaries of the PROVALUE project and in any case they represent the official opinion of the management bodies of the cooperation Program.
  • Partnership:
  • OBJECTIVES: To enhance the use of the knowledge generated in the previous project VALUE by dissemination among industrial agents in the SUDOE. To find « ad hoc » solutions to the representative industrial cases To create an Excellence Transnational Pole to improve the competitivity and the sustainable development of the food industry
  • SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: To enhance the use of the knowledge generated in the valorisation pilot studies and the technic-economic viability To identify main valorisation solutions for vegetal, meat and fish transformation industries. To develop ad hoc solutions for food industries To develop an Excellence Pole for food waste valorisation To disseminate among food industries proposed solutions
  • GENERATED KNOWLEDGE: Best Available Technologies (BATs) guideline Identification of the adequate valorisation strategies for each waste type PROGRESS ONGOING: Updating with new BATs and new food wastes (meat, fish, etc..)
  • GENERATED KNOWLEDGE (II): Data Base PROGRESS ONGOING: Incorporating in the DB: a) entities with valorisation capacity b) calculation of closest entity based on the GIS
  • GENERATED KNOWLEDGE (III): Pilot experiences for food and energetic valorisation: a) Fibre and antioxidant extraction and formulation of foods b) Extraction of pectines Technical and economic feasibility study was done based on data obtained in pilot experiences with industries.
  • GENERATED KNOWLEDGE (IV): Pilot experiences for food and energetic valorisation: a) Production of bioethanol from sugar rich wastes b) Production of biogás from vegetal waste co-digestion Agromaterials Technical and economic feasibility study was done based on data obtained in pilot experiences with industries.
  • EXCELLENCE POLE PROGRESS ONGOING: Identification of agents and capacities Interviews and meetings Identification of main R&D lines and Working Groups Development of a Work Plan for the Excellence Pole focused on R&D proposal on waste valorisation in H2020 Integration in other European nets and poles
