An Introduction To True Colors An Introduction To True Colors Presentation Transcript

  • Keys to Personal Success An Introduction
  • What is a True Colors Presentation
    • I’ve done lots of personality tests over the years and while I sometimes struggle to recall my Myers-Briggs letters and my DISC initials, I’ve always remembered my true colour. And the nice thing is, it is based upon Myers-Briggs which is a world standard.
    • The True Colors Presentation allows people to understand themselves and their strengths and to appreciate the strengths of others around them whether at home, at work, or in a community group.
    • The presentation is fun to present and fun to take. I have been told by many that it was the best teambuilder they have done as a group.
  • The Agenda for a True Colors Presentation Includes these:
    • Welcome (Ice Breaker & Overview)
    • The Evolution of True Colors
    • What Are Your True Colors? (Handout)
    • A Brightening Activity where Groups Explore the Strengths of Each Color
    • A True Colors Video
    • Group Work on Appreciating Differences
    • Group Work on Applying True Colors with the team and at Home
    • A Closing Activity
  • Welcome
      • Who’s Here – Ice Breaker Activity
      • Depending upon the group (whether people know each other or not) I start with an ice breaker activity which sets the tone for the day
  • Our Session Goals
    • Understand our personal colors
    • Understand that we all have some of each color
    • Be able to start to apply what we know about the colors to our lives both in the gym and at home
    • Begin to appreciate the value of the different colors
  • True Colors Evolution True Colors traces its roots to Hippocrates and his thoughts on personality types through to Carl Jung’s work and that of Myers and Briggs, David Keirsey, and Don Lowry who put it all together as True Colors
  • What Are My Colors?
  • Participants discover their True Colors through a card sort, followed by a word sort. Scores show each person’s colors from “brightest” to “palest.”
  • In the brightening activity participants work in groups of 2 or 3, to see and celebrate: Strengths What are you good at? Joys What makes you happy? Value What is important to you? Needs What do you need? Brightening your colors
  • Based upon the group work we can review the core values of each color, and their attributes
  • Entertainment Activity Time Out for a … True Colors Video which emphasizes the attributes of each color
  • Appreciating Differences Group discussion allows us to be aware of things that are misunderstood about us/ourcolor color.
  • Valuing Differences… Creating Unity We explore the value of having all colors in a group by doing a group activity using the strengths of each color.
  • True Colors at Work and at Home We have some practice in identifying co-worker colours: worksheet –work in pairs
  • True Colors at work and at Home What personality types are your friends: worksheet
  • Creating Esteem in All Ages We discuss how we can create esteem in others and ourselves
  • We do an exercise that shows the Power of a Supportive team
  • Using the Knowledge Group Discussion: how will you use True Colours at work starting tomorrow?
  • Finally We close with a short presentation on the value of appreciation
    • Know Yourself …
    • … and learn about those around you.
    • With True Colors ® you can:
