3. PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY
Privacy and confidentiality should be kept as a
number one priority.
For an organization to provide quality care to the
patients this starts with protecting their information
at all costs
The best way to ensure that the privacy and
confidentiality is being taken at high priority is to
utilized regular training methods
4. HIPPA
HIPPA- stands for the Health Insurance Portability
and Accountability Act
This is meant to help individuals to have and keep
insurance.
It also requires that the individuals health
information will be kept confidential and protected.

5. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THERE IS A BREACH
When a breach happens the patients must be
notified no later than 60 days.
This is required by law that the patient is notified-
either by certified mail or email
6. TRAINING OF STAFF
All staff need to know that all patient information is
to be kept private.
This means that the staff has to have the
understanding that the patients file is not to be
looked at no matter what the reason is.
The staff should have to take a class on HIPPA to
ensure that they are compliant with the rules
They need to understand that a breach needs to be
reported to management immediately
If a breach occurs and was not reported properly
then there needs to be a punishment
7. FOLLOW UP TRAINING
The management needs to make sure that they are
following up on training
When there is new information or changes the staff
needs to be informed to maintain the confidentiality
and security of the patients information.
There needs to be respect of privacy for all patients
no matter who they are
