FASHION <ul><li>Fashion is defined as a style of dressing that is popular during a certain time or era. </li></ul><ul><li>It often changes and reflects a person.In modern times it reflects personality. </li></ul><ul><li>Fashion is a state of mind. A spirit, an extension of one's self. </li></ul><ul><li>Fashion is something we deal with everyday. Even people who say they don't care what they wear choose clothes every morning that say a lot about them and how they feel that day. </li></ul>

About every 10 years a totally new kind of dress is in style. </li></ul><ul><li>Fashion is affected in many ways: </li></ul>Fashion and history go hand in hand, believe it or not. Historical events in a time period reflects the way people living in the time dress, especially with teenagers…

There exists a great evolution through the fashion of the 40s to the 90s, and it involves different ideologies. </li></ul>

In each generation fashion trends become based on history and/or important events. </li></ul>

Hamnett became popular when her t-shirts with large messages like &quot;choose life&quot; were worn by several rock bands. </li></ul><ul><li>Clothes separate people into groups. </li></ul><ul><li>Fashion is revealing. Clothes reveal what groups people are in. </li></ul><ul><li>i-e;’In high school, groups have names: &quot;goths, skaters, preps, herbs.&quot; </li></ul>

It is an outward means of expression to their peers and the rest of the world. </li></ul><ul><li>Often, fashion for teenagers is the result of the desire to be like a celebrity. Celebrities are perhaps the greatest influences on teenagers in the modern world, and they can have a huge impact on a teen's ideas about fashion and its importance. </li></ul>
  18. 19. One certain thing in the fashion world is change. We are constantly being bombarded with new fashion ideas from music, videos, books, and television. Movies also have a big impact on what people wear. Ray-ban sold more sunglasses after the movie men in black. Sometimes a trend is world-wide. Back in the 1950s, teenagers everywhere dressed like elvis presley.

Newspapers and magazines report on what hillary clinton wears. </li></ul><ul><li>The recent death of diana, the princess of wales, was a severe blow to the high fashion world, where her clothes were daily news. </li></ul><ul><li>Even folks in the 1700s pored over fashion magazines to see the latest styles. </li></ul><ul><li>The famous french king louis xiv said that fashion is a mirror. Louis himself was renowned for his style, which tended towards extravagant laces and velvets. </li></ul>
