Revelation Chs. 21 And 22

 1. 1. Revelation 21 In the New Beginning, God…
 2. 2. A New Heaven and a New Earth

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

http :// catholic - resources . org / Art / DuncanLong-4 . htm
 3. 3.

In this and the following chapter we get only a tiny glimpse of what the new heaven and earth are going to be like. One of the really good things is there will be no sin and thus no more curse.

A New Heaven and a New Earth
 4. 4.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful [with regard to accepting Jesus as Savior] , and the [outright] unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and [female and male sodomite prostitutes, homosexuals, adulterers and those who practice other perverted sexual acts]

A New Heaven and a New Earth
 5. 5. A New Heaven and a New Earth

and sorcerers [and those who practice witchcraft] , and idolaters [used of anyone, even a Christian, who participates in any way in pagan rituals to worship idols] , and all liars, will have their part in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

 6. 6. No More Death, Pain or Sorrow

Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of Heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.

 7. 7. No More Death, Pain or Sorrow

Rev 21:4 And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.

 8. 8. No More Death, Pain or Sorrow

Rev 21:4 …a nd there will be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying, nor will there be any more pain; for the first things have passed away.

Rev 21:5 And H e that sits on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said to me, Write, for these words are true and faithful.

 9. 9. The New Jerusalem

Rev 21:9 And one of the seven angels … talked with me, saying, Come here, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife.

Rev 21:10 And he … showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of Heaven from God,

 10. 10. The New Jerusalem

Rev 21:11 having the glory of God. And its light was … like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.

Rev 21:12 And it had a great and high wall, with twelve gates. And on the gates were twelve angels, and having names inscribed, … the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel:

 11. 11. The New Jerusalem

Rev 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Rev 21:15 And he …[ measure d] the city and its gates and its wall.

 12. 12. The New Jerusalem

Rev 21:16 And the city lies four-square, and the length is as large as the breadth. And he measured the city with the reed, [1,364 miles long] . The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

 13. 13. The New Jerusalem

From the description of it this city is cube-shaped, which reminds us of the Holy of Holies where God “dwelled” with the Israelites during the ancient times. And so God will again “dwell” with men in the New Holy of Holies – the New Jerusalem

http :// catholic - resources . org / Art / DuncanLong . htm
 14. 14. The New Jerusalem

Rev 21:3 … Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Rev 21:24 And the nations of those who are saved will walk in the light of it ; and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.

 15. 15. Revelation 22 The Tree of Life and the River of Life and Final Warnings
 16. 16. The Tree of Life and the River of Life

Rev 22:1 And he showed me a pure river of Water of Life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

www . davidmiles . net /
 17. 17. The Tree of Life and the River of Life

Rev 22:2 In the midst of its street, and of the river, from here and from there, was the Tree of Life, which bore twelve fruits, each yielding its fruit according to one month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations .

 18. 18. More of the Blessings of the New Jerusalem

Rev 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

Rev 22:4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their forehead s.

 19. 19. More of the Blessings of the New Jerusalem

We cannot even begin to comprehend what it’s going to be like. But just being free from death, and sin and sorrow alone will make being there worth it, in my opinion.

 20. 20. The First Warning to the Readers

Rev 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still .

 21. 21.

This warning is saying that if after reading all this and seeing what happens to the wicked and unrepentant sinners, and you refuse to repent, there is nothing that can be done to change or save you. On the other hand, if a person has been made righteous and holy through repentance at seeing the things contained in The Revelation, then let him continue to live righteously and holy before the Lord.

The First Warning to the Readers
 22. 22. The Most Solemn Warning to the Readers

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

 23. 23. The Most Solemn Warning to the Readers

Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

 24. 24.

In other words if you add or subtract anything from the prophecies in Revelation, you are going to be lost for ever, and you will have to suffer the same fate as the other sinners, though you may be a pastor of a church or a leader of some ministry for the Lord who alters it.

The Most Solemn Warning to the Readers
 25. 25. Personal Explanation

This series of presentations is not meant to be comprehensive, nor is it meant to clear up a lot of the points that are hard and that have a lot of legitimate disagreement . It is the hope that the series will make the book a little less tedious and clearer to understand and that the viewers will be encouraged to begin their own study of the Book of Revelation and other end-times topics to better prepare themselves for the coming of Jesus to Rapture the church, and to better witness to others while there is still time.

 26. 26.

The Lake of Fire is real and those who do not escape it by repenting of their sinful lives and calling on the name of Jesus to ask Him to save them now will end up there. This is the kimdest way to say it. You CAN be saved from the death and suffering and in the end the horrible Lake of Fire from which there is no parole or release. Remember that FOREVER is a long, long, long, long time to face being in hell’s fires.

Personal Explanation
 27. 27. Jesus’ invitation

Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

 28. 28. My Exhortation to You

“ I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy [descendants] may live:

“ That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: …”. (Deuteronomy 30:19-20)
