      • This quiz will be given through pictures and statistics from World War II. Hopefully, you will not only score well using the statistics lesson from the previous day, but also learn something new about World War II you may have not known.
      • The following contains statistics taken from www.thehistoryplace.com . The deaths for each country does differ from one website to the next. For the purposes of this quiz, all numbers were gathered from the mentioned website.
      • The USSR suffered the greatest number of losses in WWII at 20,600,000 which was 10.4% of their prewar population.
      • What was the population of the USSR prewar?
      • China’s prewar population was 5 billion. The country lost 2% of their population in WWII, what was the amount of casualties for China in WWII?
      • Germany lost 6,850,000 casualties, about 50% of them being civilian deaths. Their prewar population was 72,105,000.
      • What percentage of Germans died in WWII?
      • Poland, who suffered the greatest civilian loss, had 6,123,000 casualties which accounted for 17.2% of their prewar population.
      • What was Poland’s prewar population?
      • Note: 6 million of these were civilian losses.
      • Japan had 2 million casualties in WWII. The prewar population of Japan was 74,074,000.
      • What was the percentage of Japan’s prewar population that was lost in
      • WWII?
      • Yugoslavia lost 10.9% of their prewar population of 15,651,000.
      • How many casualties did the country sustain?
      • This is a picture of a refugee camp created during the war.
      • France lost 810,000 people during WWII, half of which were civilians. This was 1.9% of their prewar population.
      • What was France’s prewar population?
      • Greece suffered a loss of 7.2% of its prewar population of 7,222,000.
      • How many deaths did the country of Greece have during WWII?
      • The United States lost about 0.4% of its prewar population. The prewar population was 125,000,000.
      • How many casualities did the US have in WWII?
      • Romania lost 460,000 during the war, which accounted for 3.4% of their prewar population. What was the prewar population?
      • The United States of America declared war on Japan on December 8 th , 1941. This was one day after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Germany would declare war on the US three days later. While I pick up the quizzes you will be listening to a reporter interviewing “people on the street” and their reactions to Pearl Harbor.
      • This was not only a regular quiz using actual data gathered from World War II but hopefully you have learned a thing or two you didn’t know. I highly recommend furthering your knowledge about this time in our nations history. Countless books and movies have told the stories of the courageous soldiers who fought in this war.
