It is a opportunity for people to give thanks for agood harvest and other fortunes in the last year.Many people have a day off work on the secondMonday of October. They often use the three-dayThanksgiving weekend to visit family or friends wholive far away, or to receive them in their homes.Many people also prepare a special meal to eat,traditionally, this included roast turkey andseasonal produce, such as pumpkin, corn andpeanuts.
