    • 5. I joined my first social network in 2003. *We didn’t call them social networks before 2003, my first social website was in 2000.
    • 6. Along with 3 million other people.
    • 7. I first blogged in the in the winter of 2004.
    • 8. 4 million other people beat me to it.
    • 9. I sent my first tweet in March of 2007
    • 10. By then, 8 million others had already sent theirs.
    • 11. Being first doesn’t matter.
    • 12. Having a presence does.

    • 14. Making the case for social media:
    • 15. The community already exists.
    • 16. Are you a part of it?
    • 17. Pause for less awkward, more confident, text messaging and purposeful tweets.
    • 18. 1. Create your network.
    • 19. But, I’m busy.
    • 20. E-mail is the new blog.
    • 21. Research is content.
    • 22. One post can rule them all.
    • 23. 2. Organize Your Influence.
    • 24. List and be Listed.
    • 25. Like and be Liked.
    • 26. Make your network come to you.
    • 27. 3. Collaborate with your Community.
    • 28. Create the spaces you would like to inhabit.
    • 29. Ask questions, then answer them together.
    • 30. Start conversations. Tag Everything.
    • 31. Are you a part of creating your community? Your network?
