    • The phrase “cloud computing” is a general term for any service being delivered through the Internet. Here are some you are already using:
    • Little or no software is required to run these applications (except for a browser and your operating system). It is all run remotely
    • Here are some example of your real estate applications being run on “the cloud”. Files only
    • Google has free applications to help us put things on the cloud.
    • No more having to be networkedto get your personal files from the server.
    • No more having to carry around a jump drive with your files on it
    • It will on be on “the cloud” when you need it
    • Including from your phone!
    • How can you use this in your business?
    • Unlimited content for your Web Site!
    • 1. You create a document2. Upload it to Google Docs3. Get the URL4. Add hyperlinks to Google Docs – as many as you would like!

    • You can upload Word Docs and PDF Files To Google DocsUploading a documentYou can upload existing documents to Google documentsat any time. Heres how:1.Click the Upload button at thetop of the sidebar in your Docs list page.
    • 1 GB SPACE FREEThen pay – $5 YR for 20 GB etc
    • When uploading Word Docs – if you select the conversion boxas shown below – the documents will then be editable online.
    • Browse and select your file. Click Open. And START UPLOAD
    • You can access the SHARING SETTINGS from here – orGO BACK TO GOOGLE DOCS. We are going to accessthem by clicking on the DOCUMENT we just loaded.
    • Click on SHARE in the upper RightThen click on SHARING SETTINGS
    • Right now you are the only person who can viewand/or edit the document. Click “CHANGE” tochange the settings.
    • If you are posting this on your website – and wanteveryone to be able to view it – select PUBLIC ONTHE WEB. SAVE
    • To post the link on your website or Business Page – COPY THISURL before closing the window. Note – you can share it toFacebook (Profile Page) from here, too. Then CLOSE.
    • From the Documents List – you can see which documents areshared. Notice – the right hand column also gives informationincluding the current sharing permissions.
    • You can also just share the document with specificpeople by Adding Email addresses on the SharingSettings screen.
    • 1. From the Documents list, you can also Right Click on the document you want to share2. Then, select Share’ and then ‘Sharing Settings’.
    • 1. To update a version – click in the white space after the file name (if you click ON the file – it will open it)2. Then click the drop down of ACTIONS and select Add or MANAGE Versions
    • The following screen will appear – and you can upload anew version. This way any links you have out there will notchange.
    • To add the hyperlink to your Gary Greene Site – login and go tothe ABOUT ME section and click EDIT. Process is same for mosttext editors on websites)
    • Type in the text you want – such as the name of the documentIn this case it is WHAT IS A MUD DISTRICT

    • Highlight the text you want clickable – and click thehyperlink icon – the chain
    • PASTE THE URL you copied from Google Docs in the LINK URL.Make sure you select OPEN LINK IN A NEW WINDOWAnd type in a title – the name of the file is fine. Click INSERT
    • You can make the font larger by highlighting the desiredtext and selecting FONT SIZE.
    • You can PREVIEW the content before saving to make sure the linkis working properly. The UNDO button will take you back severalsteps as needed.
    • Be sure to SAVE your work when complete.
