STEEL paragraph practice

  1. 1. STEEL PARAGRAPHS• Abstract nouns (concepts & techniques)• Verbs of doing• Connectives
  2. 2. • S: Conformity and the oppression of students by an old-fashioned education system is being protested against in Pink Floyd’s ‘Another Brick in the Wall’.• TEE: Metaphor of the students as bricks, “All in you’re just another brick in the wall” creates and image of the children losing their individuality as they become students. Furthermore repetition of the line ‘We don’t need to education’ reinforces the song’s message about education.• L: Self-expression and freedom are central to a flourishing society; oppression and conformity prohibit this and must be opposed.
