    Slide 5: What can a SMARTBoard do?

    - Helps students become active, not passive learners.
    - Expands the resources available to the teacher through gallery items.
    - Allows teachers to reach many of Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences, especially bodily-kinesthetic, spatial, musical, and interpersonal.
    - Allows information given in class to be posted to a website for further studying.
    - allows students to be creative in conveying information to their peers.

  2. Video output from computer to projector Video projected from projector to SMARTBoard Computer sees the SMARTBoard as a giant touch screen ‘mouse’ device. Input data sent to the computer via USB.
  3. Classroom can now project a computer video output for the whole class to see. Classroom computer can be used for instructional purposes. - Internet connection enables learning via interactive websites. - Software can be used as a learning and instructional tool.
    • Students can interact with digital content naturally.
    • Write using the SMARTBoard’s pens in digital ink on top of a digital image or diagram.
    • Save daily accessed calendars, charts, graphs, notes.
    • Touch, drag, manipulate learning objects to demonstrate understanding.
