3. Dr. Rhinton Rustamji Mahuvawala,
A homeopathic doctor, who is curing people
since 53 years.
Treats patients not for any monetary benefits
but for their good health.
Also known as THE MIRACLE MAN amongst
the doctors.
4. He was more than astonished when I
requested him for an interview.
Although he had some patients waiting for
him, it was very kind of him to spare his time
with me.
The interview conversation was like this:
5. ‘I come from a very humble background and
my childhood was spent in Mahuva (a town in
Bhavnagar). I was born in 1933 and did my
schooling in a local school. There, I had seen
unprofessional and careless medical
treatments given to the patients and hence,
decided to become a doctor.’
6. ‘Homeopathy is the only medicine which has
a faster cure without any side effects. And
what else could be better than this? Curing
patients without any side-effects started to
interest me.’
‘I knew that a homeopath would not be
awarded with more earnings but still, decided
to choose homeopathy only for the society.’
7. ‘After my graduation, I started assisting a
senior homeopath in Mumbai. It was a very
formative phase for me. I was given a
tremendous exposure to the new world.
After working there for about a decade, I
decided to serve my hometown. I started my
own clinic at Mahuva in 1965.’
8. ‘Initially people there were not aware about
the benefits of this medical genre. Less
patients would come to me and I had to
struggle convince them about homeopathy.’
‘Since I had less patients and did not want to
charge more money to them, it was also a
financial struggle.’
9. ‘Gradually after a lot of efforts by me, people
started using homeopathy. Slowly, things
started to turn my way.
After serving there for seven long years, I
knew that I was my turn to serve the district
capital-Bhavnagar.
I rented a small room for my clinic and a new
chapter of my life started near the Bhavnagar
town hall in 1972’
10. ‘I used to run my clinic from 8am to 8pm
daily. I used to deal with a lot of patients
daily and passionately tried to cure them. I
worked in the rented room till I bought my
new premises at Mahendra Market in 1985.
One of my patients helped me to get the
place, and I am till now available in the same
clinic.’
11. ‘In my newly inaugurated clinic, once I
received call of an emergency case of a snake
bit. I immediately rushed to the victim’s place
and gave a dose of homeopathic medicine
and the poison was coming out of his body
within a few minutes. This was the best day
of my life where I was very satisfied with my
treatment.’
12. ‘I am 81 years old and my body is not capable
of working as it used to be before some
years. Still, I try to remain available in my
clinic for five hours a day and try to help
patients in any way I can.
I want the younger generation to work with
commitment and till the last breath of their
life. I also want them to constructively build
an ideal society.’
13. ‘It was indeed my pleasure talking to you
young man. I am available at my clinic from
10am to 1pm and from 5pm to 8pm from
Monday to Saturday. I play with my
grandchildren in the rest of the time!!’
‘Let me know in case of any help.’
‘All the best for your future.’
