What is mentoring? Mentoring consists essentially in connecting 2 persons , where the experienced one is providing support, encouragement and guidance to the other. As the concept of “experience” is only relative to a particular field or environment, it paves the way for cross mentoring where the 2 persons are alternatively embracing the roles of Mentor & Mentee. In the digital area it is not uncommon, and often very rewarding, to implement reverse mentoring where a junior person provides guidance to a more senior one in the use of new equipment, software and social media.

To which situations does expat mentoring apply? Moving to a new country: being supported by someone having experienced the same life challenges and knowing the country of destination. A way to optimize the preparation, the installation and the adaptation. Working in a new envionment : taking advantage of the knowhow and support from someone with experience in a similar field of expertise or professional challenges. A way to step back, to identify cultural gaps and adress new situations. Starting a business abroad : being guided and supported by another entrepreneur in the host country. A way to identify and adress the typical challenges and difficulties one has to face throughout the business creation journey in the host country. These are just a few examples: …

How far do you engage?
A typical mentoring program is extending over a period of 3 to 6 months.
You are having regular exchanges with your mentor, either face to face or via tel, skype and e-mail.
What you can expect from your mentor is:
To be present and focused on you and your development needs
To provide feedback and guidance to answer questions or to make choice
To be a facilitator (when it is possible), to help you access resources and information, connect with useful persons,…
What your mentor is expecting from you is:
Commitment, trust and feedback

How you can do it
Very simply:

We contact you to understand your career path and your expectations towards mentoring .
You complete your personal information: you can choose to limitate the access to your personal information to members of the Mentoring group and/or of company/institution groups that you have joined)
