Top 3 character traits of exemplary digital learning

  1. 1. Top 3 Character Traits of Exemplary Digital Learning Community Citizens 1. Productive. Do you give back? The most exemplary digital citizens create original content that they share with others. Productive citizens can also be curators—finding and organizing the best resources in one place. I write Tweets with informative, original content. I retweet 99% of the time. I add tags to all of the resources I bookmark in Diigo. I have 497 pins on my “Cute Animals” pinboard in Pinterest.
  2. 2. Top 3 Character Traits of Exemplary Digital Learning Community Citizens 2. Respectful. Exemplary digital citizens respect the dignity of others and are also respectful of the law. They cite their sources and avoid plagiarism. I ignore Internet trolls. I told an adult about the Internet bullies who were harassing my friend. I post whatever I feel. I make the effort to track down my research paper sources. Citations? Like a traffic ticket?
  3. 3. Top 3 Character Traits of Exemplary Digital Learning Community Citizens 3. Generous. Exemplary digital citizens create original products and share freely or for profit. The world needs new ideas, software, and products to address questions and issues. I made an app that helps people remember school project due dates and added it to the app store. I took some pictures of my hometown, but I never took them off my camera memory stick. I finally figured out how to finalize my video project, so I posted a tutorial on YouTube to help other people. I figured out how to embed a video on my website, but I will be keeping that information to myself.
