    Notes on slide 1

What is activism? By definition, it is intentional action to bring about change - particularly social or political change. But that's just the beginning. Activism is what you make it. It can be an individual effort or a group effort, and is often a combination of the two. It can be a huge rally at a state capitol or handing out palm cards in your town square or at your school. Activism is usually creative, with a visual component to complement your key message and make sure people remember it. Most importantly, activism can be easy! That's what "Instant Activism" is all about. Catalyst is sharing the tools and ideas to help you create an instant activism event you can carry out in a matter of hours. All you really need is some paper, a prop and a strong message. Oh, and activists. So, grab a couple of friends, tell them about Catalyst, and hit the streets.
