Advertising began in newspapers in the 17th century in England. The first radio ad aired in 1922 in New York and the first TV ad aired in 1941, also in New York, during a baseball game for Bulova Watches. Throughout the 1940s-1970s, more companies began advertising on TV and radio, with some sponsoring entire programs, though cigarette ads were banned from TV in the 1970s. The most successful mobile game ad was for Angry Birds, which had over 102 million YouTube views and generated $200 million in revenue for the game in 2012.
