  13. • Increase individual student responsibility for their learning • Provide opportunities for the embedded use of digital multimedia • Improve learning through iteration • Provide an authentic environment to learn digital citizenship • Tablets have some significant advantages over traditional computing devices

  18. • Always use your iPad in ways that are appropriate and respectful to your teacher, your classmates, your parents and yourself • At school, your teachers set the rules on how you use your iPad • At home, your parents set the rules on how you use your iPad. • Charge your iPad at home every night and bring it to school ready to use • Backup your important files regularly (Google Drive, iCloud, iTunes, DropBox, etc) • Look after your iPad!

Suggestions and strategies for home • Come to an agreement with your daughter regarding her technology use • Set limits on what is acceptable - time, place, etc • Only use technology in shared spaces. Going to bed does not require an iPad! • Be actively involved in your daughter’s iPad use. Get her to show you what she can do! • Feel free to look through the iPad. Nothing on your daughter’s iPad should be a secret. • You are the parent. Your say is final.
