The Meaning of the Ghana Flag <ul><li>The Ghana flag was officially adopted on March 6, 1957. </li></ul><ul><li>The flag was the first to use the Pan-African colours of RED , GOLD , GREEN and BLACK STAR . </li></ul><ul><li>RED represents the blood shed by freedom fighters during the struggle for independence. </li></ul><ul><li>GOLD/Yellow represents the country's mineral wealth. </li></ul><ul><li>GREEN is symbolic of the country's forests/ tropics and the rich vegetation. </li></ul><ul><li>.Then the five pointed lone star (BLACK STAR) which is the symbol of African emancipation and unity in the struggle against colonialism. </li></ul>
