  • 2.  The Chess team was started by Eli Dolly as a graduation project 9 years ago. The first advisor was Mrs. Ann Showers. Mr. Dewease took over the Team 5 years ago and is still currently chess instructor today for Biglervile chess
  • 3. The Rook can onlymove straight. You canmove it as far as youwant but only in astraight line
  • 4. The Knightcan onlymove in an Lshape it wouldbe threeup, down, left, or right butone over so itwould be afour square L.
  • 5. The Bishopcan onlymovediagonalonly as faras you wantto move it.
  • 6. The Queenis the mostsecondimportantpiece next tothe king itcan moveany where itwants as faras it wants.
  • 7. The King is themost importantpiece you have toprotect your kingor you will lose thegame. The king anonly move onespace at a timeany where itwants.
  • 8. The Pawn canonly move onespace at a timeforward.However whenfirst starting thegame you candouble jumpwith the pawns.
  • 9.  The chess board has 64 squares.
  • 10.  The Biglerville Chess Team has been in Biglerville for at least 15 years.
  • 11.  The members of the Biglerville Chess team are: Benjamin, Isaiah, Eric, Marty, Caleb, Marti n, and a lot more.
  • 12.  We have played teams from Gettysburg all the way out Waynesboroh.
  • 13.  Thechess team practices every Tuesday and Thursday night from 2pm to 4pm.
  • 14.  This is the Chess Thug T-shirt!
  • 15.  Thetwo main colors of chess are black and white.
  • 16.  Who ever plays the White side that player always makes the first move.
