1. This DVD cover has focus on the middle
surrounding the image. Looking at the actual
image it features that artist so the audience can
recognise the artist. The image itself is eye
catching and stands out due to the luminescent
and bright background, compared to a plain
background that would bore an audience. The
bright lights may imply a party feel and the track
may be a club track.
The colours are vibrant and contrast well with the
artists black cloths again encapsulating the
audience who will see the image first which will
interest them. The bright light of the artists
shoulder and sunglasses are also enticing to the target audience. The bright parts of the clothing are
also suggestive of ‘bling’ which would link well with the rap and hip-hop genre where ‘bling’ and
jewellery such as gold chains and silver crosses are often worn by the big artists in the Hip-hop
industry such as 50 Cent, Rick Ross, T.I and The Game. The t-shirt worn by the artist might also be sold
to make more of a profit alongside the music sales. People would buy the t-shirt because they would
see that artist they adore wearing it.
The serious look on Tinie Tempah’s face could also signify that he serious about his music and the
audience would appreciate this. The text is bold which would catch the audiences eye and the artists
name is the largest so they know who the song is by. The edgy and stylish font would interest the
audience. In small font you can also see another artist featuring so this would also target fans of that
artists therefore gaining a more widespread appeal

2. This album cover is towards a more niche market-
Christian Hip-hop but it is still made to interest its
audience.
You can see that it is very simple like many modern
album DVD covers which would interest the
audience. This simplicity seems to capture the main
essence of the album which is the fact that his music
is not about if he gets most sales and profit but it is
for the fulfilment of his faith and praising Jesus who
is probably his role-model
The middle symbol is yellow because it is bright so it
would interest the audience. This bright yellow
would interest the audience drawing them
immediately to the centre image which seems to be an important message that Lecrae is trying
to give out. The middle symbol seems to signify the ‘light of the world’ spoken in the Bible. It
represents hope and rehabilitation. The fact that it is going in a triangle may also suggest that
people are in a continual spiritual rehabilitation because it consists of three R’s going round in a
circle. It also might represent the Trinity (the father, son and Holy spirit) which is an integral part
of the Christian faith.
The fact the there is a plain background and the artist wears plain clothes again makes the
symbol more important and eye-catching. The artists name is also in yellow to inform the
audience who the album is by.
