Walking in the Light
There is no Darkness in God

God is Light – Jesus’ Blood
Purifies us from Sin
1 John 1: 5-7
• Light and Darkness are Opposite
• God is Pure Light
• If we walk with God we become
more like Him
• But first we have to be honest with
ourselves and with God
• We should not be excusing our sin
but must repent and confess it

We are like sheep
• Sheep are stupid cannot find water or
food without help. (Psalm 23)
• Sheep cannot defend itself from
predators. (Ezekiel 34:5)
• Sheep are stubborn/ Insist on going
our own way. (Sin)
This is very hard for us to admit.

We must not
deceive ourselves
• 1 John 1:8-10
“8If we claim to be without sin, we deceive
ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If we
confess our sins, he is faithful and just
and will forgive us our sins and purify us
from all unrighteousness. 10If we claim we
have not sinned, we make him out to be a
liar and his word has no place in our lives.”

We Aim High and fall short
– then there is atonement

• As a believer, wag mo pakinggan lahat ng
sumasagi sa isip mo.
• Paano tatalunin ang kalaban? (James
4:7)

True Fellowship with God
We must walk with Jesus

• We try hard to obey Him.
Obey His Word objectively. No emotions
•
If we sin, we truly confess and repent
•
quickly
• We get back on our feet again.
(Tumayo, tumindig ulit tayo)

True Fellowship with God
• We learn to walk with God more
consistently.
• Teach this to your children!
• Be concerned with deliberate sin. (Mga
sinadyang kasalanan). (1 John 3:7-9)
• Pray to God to help you get out of this sin.
Siya lang makakatulong sa iyo.
• Be careful that the darkness doesn’t
harden our hearts.

There is no darkness in
God
• We want to learn to walk in the light.
• We can do this because there is atonement
for our sins.
• We must choose this atonement for our
sins.
• God will help us.
• As we walk in increasing light we will see
things clearly
