    2. App Store Stats • 25,000 apps in the store • 96% of apps submitted to store are approved • 98% of apps approved < 7 days • 800,000,000 downloads in 8 months Tuesday, March 17, 2009
    3. For Developers • 1,000 new API’s • “InAppPurchase” or subscriptions - apps can now have subscriptions (i.e. new game levels, magazines, eBooks) • Peer-to-Peer capabilities via Bluetooth (no pairing required) - games, contact sharing etc. Tuesday, March 17, 2009
    4. Accessories • Custom apps can talk directly with accessories • Speaker docks • Medical devices • Play, pause, artwork, build own custom protocols Tuesday, March 17, 2009
    5. Maps • Maps are now part of the API • Developers can now embed maps in their apps. • Pinch and zoom • Satellite, hybrid and standard map views • Reverse GeoCode Tuesday, March 17, 2009
    6. Turn-by-Turn • Turn-by-turn directions are enabled • Developers will need to use their own licensed map tiles for their own apps Tuesday, March 17, 2009
    7. Push Notification • Push notification has been re-designed • Apple didn’t expect the volume of apps • Server infrastructure could not handle initial loads Tuesday, March 17, 2009
