ACTION ADVENTURE• In this unit you will learn to: KEY CONCEPTS FOR• Write a textual analysis of a TEXTUAL ANALYSIS film extract• Writing a textual analysis means you will: GENRE• Accurately describe different MEDIA LANGUAGE aspects of a film extract REPRESENTATION• Explain why the people who made the extract chose each (IDEOLOGY & VALUES) of those aspects• Explain what the extract says about the world
  • 3. ACTION ADVENTURE• Copy out the chart on slide 4. Look at the images of the films on slide 5 and try to place them in the right category.• Pick 4 films from different categories and explain why you chose to put them there• Pick two films that fit into more than one category and explain why its hard to put them in just one category

SO WHAT IS ACTION ADVENTURE?• Action film is a film where one or more heroes is thrust into a series of challenges that requires physical feats, extended fight and frantic chases.• Action Adventure can be hard to define because it includes ACTION and elements of other genres therefore we can refer to it as a HYBRID GENRE
