  1. By Isabel lopes Illustrated by Isabel Lopes
  2.  Once upon a time in 1763 there was a king . The people of his town were happy because he wasn’t involved in their problems they were called the colonists. America made their own choices, also the British wasn’t allowed !!. They had a war between French & British because they had struggles but the British won but the king didn’t know he was across the ocean.
  3.  The next day the met five stars such as Plato also John Locke , Baron and jean . They told how they felt such as how Plato believes in equality and how a king should be useful teaching them that a king should be fair. While Locke said he doesn't believe god chose them to be kings or as a democracy made them think about freedom. Baron believed in limited power in a monarchy governt power should be limited. In many ways jean taught them about direct democracy so they learn how to make their own choices .
  4.  Later everything changed the king became mean on the colonists by raising money. Then the French and Indian war left the parliament with a lot of (debt) money to pay . The people of his town had to pay for basic things they need. Also people was appointed by the parliament to pay money. in many ways the people had no say on King George decision at all. Some didn’t pay at all by protesting. Some had to pay to the parliament. Some
  5. Everything started to change after the Proclamation of 1763 . Soon the colonists weren't allowed to buy land west of the Appalachian mountains. Basically colonist s couldn’t travel to land already bought by them. the Quartering act had the colonists let British soldiers stay in their houses. It really upset the colonists mainly because the soldiers had to stay with them even though there was no war going on. Eventually the Townshend act was making them pay for natural resource such as lead , paint.
  6.  The next day the Boston Massacre began. It was A huge argument between the colonists vs. the British. Then they had a fight when 5 colonists died. Colonists became angry about the Townshend acts that made them pay for natural resources so they disguised themselves as natives dumped 342 crates of Boston tea into the Boston harbor. Also tea was boycotted through the colonies. Then the king became upset the colonists because they began to revolt soon he enforced new laws called the Intolerable acts. he banned colonists from having town meetings. Also they closed the port of Boston until all tea was recovered. So it made the colonists upset it didn’t allowed them to plan any form of rebellion, basically a boiling point for the colonists.
  7. They had a meeting with the 12 colonies (states)thought as themselves as British also some were patriots or thought of themselves as British. United for liberty hatred of tyranny(has too much power) had formed militias of ordinary people Because the colonists (people) were upset because the king didn’t really recognize their rights. Both sides opened fire Americans forced to withdraw. Americans were waiting for them in force British forced to retreat harassed by militia men along the way. Mainly fighting with the British to gain
  8. America can be successful without the king or Britain. Also that Britain is being selfish protecting themselves than the colonists. They should be ashamed That they killed their own kind. There is no reason to settle with Britain no advantages. Big country should not be ruled by a small country.
  9.  Then they had a meeting to discuss their independence. Also the declaration of independence1776 they stated how the colonists should have liberty. So when their is a group who tries to break away from their own country ,explain why they are doing it. So it basically talks the basic rights that are obvious everyone should have. So Thomas Jefferson wrote this document. Ben Franklin is one of the. members drafted to the declaration of independence . John Hancock first to sign .
  10.  The war has finished yet but then this happened such as the event of Battle of bunker hill Americans had retreated and suffered losses defending breed hill in Charlestown. Colonists convinced France to join their side. George Washington, harsh short on food for the colonists and met some friends. Also the that British made America surrender. Last battle when America defeated the British by making them surrender.
  11. In many ways the war help the colonists fight for they wanted instead of being stepped on by the British. They actually gained their liberty and freedom to be their own country And became united and it was because of one person called George Washington. Happily ever after never let obstacles get in your way.
