  • Male reproductive system • Testicles – Made up of numerous coiled seminiferous tubules. – Sperm is formed in these tubes. • Reproductive ducts – Epididymis: where the spems completes maturation – Vas deferens: where sperm is stored. – Urethra: duct
  • Male reproductive system • Glands • Seminal vesicles: secretes seminal fluids. • Prostate: prostatic fluid with substances that protects the sperm • Cowper’s glands: secretes lubricant to facilitate penetration. View slide
  • • Corpora cavernosa: erectile tissue above the urethra • Corpus spongiosum: surrounds urethra and widens at the end. • Glans • Foreskin Male reproductive system View slide
  • Female reproductive system The uterus has a thick muscular layer myometrium. Gestation occurs here. Mucus membrane. 2 tubes which collect the ova released by the ovaries. Fertilization occurs in these tubes. Lubrication is secreted to help feed the zygote.
