Caution: Values must be changed when using an archive database server
That is, when running WRM on a server different than the production server

Identifies potential source/target databases
Provides connection information to these databases
Warning: Populate this screen on the production system (not the archive system), when using an archive database server
WRM reads list of source and target databases from the production system

Key settings for initial connectivity
Location of bulk copy software

Number of threads
Defaults to 4
Reset to 2 if the archive server only has a single CPU

Common problems and solutions

Error Reporting
Monitor Screen
Lists errors detected
Often provides little useful information other than the table for which the error was reported
WFC log
Set logging level to INFO
Search for ERROR entries as a starting point
INFO level entries may provide more insight

Table-specific log files
Produced by bulk copy software for each table it attempts to copy
Sometimes provides error details that only the bulk copy software can detect
Stored in DbArchive subdirectory of WFC installation directory

Common Problems & Solutions
Empty database drop down lists
Cannot access a database
Cannot find BCP
Target database table checksums are zero
Different non-zero checksums

Empty database drop down lists
Retention Policy - Affected Databases Screen associated with the production system is not populated

Cannot access a database
Means JDBC cannot access a database
Assuming the particular database is not offline, the Driver, URL, user ID, or password value is incorrect

Cannot Find BCP
Path is incorrect
Correct on Retention Policy – Options & Tuning setup screen

Zero checksums
Means bulk copy software cannot access the target database
Check entries for the target database on the Retention Policy - Affected Databases setup screen
SQL Loader uses the database alias (tns name), user ID and password
BCP uses the database name, user ID, and password

Other causes
Incorrect tnsnames.ora file entries
Incorrect path for SQL Loader
Fix on Retention Policy – Options & Tuning setup screen
User does not have permission to run bulk copy software
User does not have permission to write to the table

Different non-zero checksums
Incomplete copy
Try resuming job
Something is running on the archive database’s application server
BGP, Shift Builder
A resource problem exists for the database
Insufficient transaction or rollback log space
Defect in copy processing
