  • 1. Networking Opportunities for Canadian Companies at Mobile World Congress 2012 Organized by the Government of Canada (DFAIT, EDC and IC)1. Meeting Rooms Date: Available all throughout the fair; Time: Opening hours of the fair; Location: 3.1 HS60, 3.1 HS91, 3.1HS93 and 3.1 HS117 (see floor plan attached); Contact: Almara Enriquez (Almara.Enriquez@international.gc.ca); The federal government has reserved four hospitality suites located in Hall 3.1. These meeting rooms are available for all Canadian companies exhibiting or visiting MWC. The rooms will be reserved on a first come, first served basis and can be used for an interval of 1/2 hour. Exceptions can be made if the room has not been reserved for the following 1/2 hour. Export Development Canada will have full access and preferential use of room 3.1H93 during the entire congress. To reserve the rooms in advance, please contact Almara Enriquez. In addition to the meetings you organize, our Trade Commissioner Service network can assist you in arranging B2B meetings with their in-market contacts prior to MWC (confirmed Trade Commissioners are travelling from Eastern, Western and Southern Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East and Taiwan). The breakfast will offer Canadian companies a chance to network with foreign companies, clients and potential partners. Telefónica Innovation 2.0 Presentation and Meetings Date: Tuesday February 28, 2012; Time: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm; Location Presentation: Restaurant in Arena, Plaza España (see attached); Contact: Maximo Hurtado and Almara Enriquez; (Maximo.Hurtado@international.gc.ca and Almara.Enriquez@international.gc.ca) Telefónica, through their Innovation 2.0 program, is looking for potential R&D partners and will give a presentation on their partnership policy framework and technical details to Canadian companies at 11am. Following the overview, the scouter will meet individually with companies for “speed-date” like discussions to determine complementarity. Interested companies are asked to fill out the company profile template attached, and e-mail it to Almara Enriquez by December 15, 2011. Please note that the company information and matchmaking needs you provide will also be used to arrange B2B meetings through our Trade Commissioner Service network prior to MWC 2012, be posted on the MWC webpage as well as a separate online presence for Canadian companies attending MWC 2012.4. Your own event Date: Tuesday February 28, 2012; Time: Location: Restaurant in Arena, Plaza España (see attached); Contact: Maximo Hurtado (Maximo.Hurtado@international.gc.ca); The Government of Canada has secured a restaurant in the “Arena” across from the MWC venue from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm for Canadian activities. Aware of the difficulties to find nearby affordable locations for company presentations and demos during MWC, we offer Canadian companies and organizations the possibility of renting this space, when not in use, on a first come, first served basis. There is room for 150 guests (seated) or up to 200 standing, and different alternatives for catering. Cost for the room will be distributed proportionately pro rata. Canada Reception at the Tapis Rouge Suite (Cirque du Soleil) Date: Tuesday February 28, 2012; Time: 7:30 pm; Location: Cirque du Soleil - Tapis Rouge Suite (see attached); Contact: Maximo Hurtado and Christine Laberge (Maximo.Hurtado@international.gc.ca and Christine.Laberge@international.gc.ca); The Government of Canada is hosting an exclusive Canada Reception at Cirque du Soleils “Corteo” show. Blocks of tickets for this VIP networking opportunity are still available and include beverages and hors d’oeuvres in the Tapis Rouge Lounge prior to the show, best seats under the Grand Chapiteau for “Corteo”, access to the Lounge for entertaining and meeting contacts during the half-time pause, and a souvenir. Blocks of 5 tickets for €1425 can be purchased through the Canadian Embassy in Madrid.
