    • Vista is Microsoft’s newest Windows operating system (OS) that will be taking the place of Windows XP.
  • 3. The ULTIMATE in Vista
    • Vista Ultimate has a ton of great features which are only available in Ultimate:
      • DVD Maker
      • HD Movie Maker
      • Language Packs
      • Media Center
      • And more!
  • 4. Getting Started
    • What happened to the “Start Button”?
    • Where are My Documents, My Pictures, and My Music?
    • How do I shut this thing down?
  • 5. Tip 1: Aero and Flip 3-D
    • Press the Windows Key + Tab
    • Easy to scroll through all open windows with live images/previews
  • 6. Tip 2: Sidebar and Gadgets
    • Sidebar is the area where the Gadgets are located.
    • Gadgets are small tools that can be placed in the sidebar
    • All types are available through the Windows Live website.
  • 7. Tip 3: Instant Search
    • Quickly search for programs, documents, pictures, presentations, etc.
    • Found in the “Start” menu and folders.
  • 8. Tip 4 : Snipping Tool
    • Easy and effective way to take quick screen shots – just snap it and paste it.
    • Paste into documents, presentations, emails and more!
    • Select area using shape selection tool and with the stylus on a tablet.
  • 9. Tip 5: Shortcut Keys
    • Using the Windows Key + (number 1 through 0), launch items in your quick launch more quickly.
  • 10. Tip 6: Power Management
    • Vista manages your battery quite well!
    • Manages power differently whether on battery or plugged in. If you run in High Performance, it will drain your battery!
  • 11. Tip 7: Mobility Center
    • Quick access to important functions. Makes it easier to connect to a projector, sync with wireless devices, and turn on presentation settings.
  • 12. Tip 8: Digital Image Suite
    • Not a part of Vista, just part of the Lausanne Image!
    • Great for editing and organizing pictures.
    • Capture images from the web cam.
  • 13. Tip 9: Media Tools
    • Ultimate has a great collection of Media Tools:
      • Photo Story 3
      • HD Movie Maker
      • DVD Maker
      • Media Center
  • 14. Tip 10: Keeping up-to-date
    • Windows updater will keep you up to date- as long as you don’t ignore it!
    • You may have to restart after some updates.
