  • 2. Introduction Iraq is in the Middle East. It is in the continent of Asia. The people of Iraq enjoy playing soccer and other sports. The mostly speak Arabic and in some places, usually next to the borders, they speak Kurdish.
  • 3. Economy The unit of money in Iraq is Dinar. Iraq’s money all in total is 49,100,000,000. Iraq has lots of oil. In the world there is only one country that produces more oil than Iraq.
  • 4. Climate Bagadad:86.5 degrees Celsius Kiruk:71.1 degrees Celsius Mosul:67.8 degrees Celsius
  • 5. Geography On the west coast of Iraq is Saudi Arabia, and the north coast of Iraq is Turkey, the east of Iraq is Iran. Iraq is a young country. It only took shape in the 1900s. It has 2 famous rivers and they are called the Tiger River and the Euphrates. Iraqi people prefer to swim in rivers. The area of Iraq is 168,754. The population of Iraq is 26,783,383. In 2005, Jalal Tulabani became Iraq’s president.
  • 6. History A long time ago, the country that is now called Iraq was called Mesopotamia. It changed its name to Iraq. The civilization emerged on the plain of the Tigers and Euphrates around 5000 B.C. Photo of a ziggurat from Mesopotamia.
  • 7. Culture There are 98% of Islam in Iraq and 2% of others realigns. There are 2 Muslim holidays and they are Ramadan and Eid El Adha. Women in Iraq were black for freedom
  • 8. Facts One third of Iraq is made up of flat desert. Some farmers live in dried mud houses. Iraq has more than 22 million date trees. 33% people in Iraq live in countryside, in cities in Iraq 67%. The capital of Iraq is Baghdad. Its borders with Turkey, Iran, Syria, Jordan, and Kuwait. The population of Iraq is 26,783,383 and the area of Iraq is 437,072 square kilometers. The highest point is unnamed, 111,847 feet 3,611 meters. Lowest point is Persian Gulf, 0 feet 0 meters.
