Perception of Space: Purdue University

  1. 1. Kyle Hale
  2. 2. Purdue University tends to convey a strong academic message to visitors and students worldwide through its many libraries.
  3. 3.  Many college kids and faculty tend to take a break from the busy lifestyle on campus. A very relaxing spot is the balcony of the Purdue Memorial Union where the view is amazing. Many aspects can be seen that Purdue normally doesn’t convey.
  4. 4. The balcony of the PMU was built originally in 1929 including guest rooms in the Union Club Hotel and a student life center
  5. 5. Purdue’s many aspects can be observed during all times of the year. Fraternities enjoy playing noisy music practically all year and the scenery is beautiful during the summer. Phi Delta Theta, one Elegant flowers and The Stewart Center, of Purdue’s many trees can be seen south where many people cut Fraternity Houses of the balcony through to the PMU
  6. 6. The balcony itself is beautiful but looking past what’s right in front of you gives a different view of the space and a sense of nostalgia.
  7. 7. There are several areas around the balcony that can bring back many memories of summertime back home with the tall trees and a relaxing breeze whilst watching the people stroll by
  8. 8. After relaxing on the this balcony, anyone can see that the University has a lot more for eyes to explore than just brown buildings and academics. There are parties at the fraternities, people taking evening jogs, and social events happen on campus all year. Take a pause and look at life in many aspects because sometimes it’s not always right in front of you.
