YOUNG MICHAEL JACKSON The Full name of Michael Jackson is called “ Michael Joseph Jackson” born in 29 August 1958. At a age of 51, he died on the date of 25 June 2009. He is the eighth of ten children in an African American working-class family who lived in a small 3-room house in Gary, Indiana, an industrial city near Chicago. His Father: Joseph Walter “Joe” Jackson was a steel mill worker who performed with an R&B band called The Falcons Michael Jackson had a troubled relationship with his father Joe regularly whipped Jackson as a boy. Jackson's father was also said to have verbally abused Jackson, saying that he had a fat nose on numerous occasions
PHYSIOLOGICAL PROBLEM ARISE <ul><li>Jackson stated that he was physically and emotionally abused </li></ul><ul><li>He admitted that he had often cried from loneliness and he would vomit on the sight of his father . </li></ul><ul><li>Due to the continuous verbal attack from his father, Michael Jackson has deep dissatisfaction with his appearance . </li></ul><ul><li>Not only that, he often had nightmares and chronic sleep problems </li></ul><ul><li>He had this kind of negative childhood throughout. Even now in his adult life, he still suffer the effects of his chronic maltreatment he endured as a young child . </li></ul>
BEGINNING OF HIS SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR In an interview with Oprah, Michael had described his life purpose as this: “ To give in the best way I can through song and through dance and through music… I believe that all art has as its ultimate goal the union between the material and the spiritual, the spiritual and the divine. I believe that that’s the reason for the very existence of art, and I feel I was chosen as an instrument to give music and love and harmony to the world. ” We certainly believe, due to the poor treatment and environment of his childhood, he lack of something very important and that is LOVE . Which he doesn’t want the world children to receive the same treatment and the lack of love that he had received before. Hence, he had help many children around the world.
HEAL THE WORLD FOUNDATION <ul><li>One way Michael Jackson helped the world is he founded the Heal the World Foundation in 1992. </li></ul><ul><li>The purpose of the charity was to provide medicine to children and fight world hunger, homelessness, child exploitation and abuse. </li></ul><ul><li>Jackson stated that he wanted "to improve the conditions for children throughout the world” </li></ul><ul><li>The foundation did not have a director, president or other top manager besides Jackson, who was listed as chairman. </li></ul>
WAYS OF CONTRIBUTION <ul><li>The foundation also brought underprivileged children to Jackson's Neverland Ranch, located outside Santa Ynez, California, to go on theme park rides that Jackson had built on the property after he purchased it in 1988. </li></ul><ul><li>Had sing songs such as "Can You Feel It", "We Are the World" and "Man in the Mirror" convey this great interest in humanitarianism, equality and world peace. </li></ul><ul><li>Jackson also donated millions of dollars to charity , including his $5 million share from the Victory Tour. </li></ul><ul><li>In 1985, Jackson co-wrote the charity single "We Are the World" with Lionel Richie, which was released worldwide to aid the poor in Africa and the US. He was one of 39 music celebrities who performed on the record. The single became one of the best-selling singles of all time, with nearly 20 million copies sold and millions of dollars donated to famine relief. </li></ul><ul><li>His ways of contribution doesn’t stop here. He continues to donate money and finding ways to help out the world as much as possible. </li></ul>
