Our standards seek to increase the availability of certified responsible seafood. The ASCs credible consumer logo assures compliance and makes it easy for everyone to take part. Why ASC? Audit capacity for farm audits Status 29 August 2012 Accredited Certifiers 1 accredited for Farm audits (Tilapia, applicant for Pangasius) 2 applicants (Tilapia and Pangasius) ASC works with an independent accreditation organisation, Accreditation Services International (ASI). ASI accredits and monitors Certification Bodies(CBs). Audit capacity for Chain of CustodyStatus 29 August 2012 Accredited Certifiers 12 accredited for CoC audits CoC-certified 41 Companies valid CoC certificates (processing, trade) 21 ApplicantsASC works with an independent accreditation organisation, Accreditation ServicesInternational (ASI). ASI accredits and monitors Certification Bodies (CBs). Next steps Pilots projects for Salmon, Bivalves & Abalone performed worldwideSep/Oct to improve quality of Audit Manuals Standards for Shrimp & Trout are expected to be handed over to ASC Q4 before the end of the year (Standard is still under development by Aquaculture Dialogues) Pilot projects for Audit Manual Shrimp & Trout are expected to be Q4 started end of the year (Only possible with final Standard, see above) Q4 Opening accreditation for Salmon is expected around Q4, 2012.Q2-2013 Opening of accreditation for Shrimp and Trout is expected around Q2, 2013.Q2/Q3-2013 First audits for Shrimp and Trout expected Although ASC and its stakeholders work hard to make these milestones a reality this planning may change
