    • facts  Penguins are flightless birds.  Most penguins live in the southern hemisphere.  No penguins live at the north pole.  Penguins can drink sea water.  Penguins in the Antarctica have no land.  Penguins lay one or two eggs at a time.  Penguins spend a lot of time dealing with the temperature.
    • Facts  There are 18 species of penguins in the world.  Only a few species live on snow & ice.  They eat & nest together all the time.  Adult penguins in the ocean are eaten by elephant seals, leopard seals and orcas, or killer whales.  Large gull like seabirds eat penguins eggs and chicks.  They are very good swimmers.  Penguins don't have wings, they have flippers.
    • Facts  Penguins face lots of threats to their survival.  As waters warm, the ice that makes up their habitat melts. 
